Chiodelli F. (2013), “The Next Jerusalem: Potential Futures of the Urban Fabric”, Jerusalem Quarterly, 53: 50-60
The paper investigates a potential scenario for the urban development of Jerusalem in the coming decades. In particular, two elements are discussed: (i) the contents of urban plans currently under way or forthcoming; (ii) spatial transformations related to the construction of the wall. The main urban transformations for both the Jewish city and the Arab city are explored. The argued thesis is that all these spatial transformations are mothering a Greater Jewish Jerusalem, and at the same time they are leaving the Arab city to atrophy.
